GreenPlace. Let’s do it together

Onda applied in March 2023 to the fourth call for URBACT Action Planning Networks in partnership with nine other European cities, forming the GreenPlace. Let’s do it together network. Its main goal is to create synergies for sharing knowledge on how to transform degraded urban spaces into new green areas. Specifically, Onda focuses on transforming a major industrial area of the municipality — made up mostly of abandoned and degraded former ceramics factories — into a large green area: the Green Lung.

URBACT is a programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the Interreg framework, based on learning and exchanging experiences between municipalities on sustainable urban development. Through URBACT, different European municipalities join together in a consortium to jointly address a common problem.

The URBACT Action Planning Networks programme enables cities that join these Action Planning Networks (APN) to improve their capacity to manage sustainable urban policies and, more specifically, to strengthen local skills to co-design long-term Integrated Action Plans. APN networks are made up of 8-10 partners.
