About this programme
Horizon 2020 (H2020) was the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for the 2014-2020 period, with a budget of €76.88 billion. It was structured around three pillars — excellent science, industrial leadership and societal challenges — to strengthen Europe’s scientific base, improve technological competitiveness and respond to the major challenges affecting citizens: health, energy, transport, climate, inclusive societies and security, among others.
LIFE is the European Union’s financial instrument dedicated to the environment and climate action, running since 1992, which funds projects in nature conservation, the circular economy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and the transition to clean energy. Both programmes have co-financed initiatives such as the EUCF (European City Facility), in which Onda City Council takes part.
